Default An election story

The Presidential election was too close to call.
Neither the
Republican candidate nor the Democratic candidate had enough votes to
win.
There was much talk about ballot recounting, court challenges,
etc.
, but a week-long ice fishing competition seemed the sportsmanlike
way to settle things.
The candidate that caught the most fish at the
end of the week would win the election.

Therefore, it was decided that there should be an ice fishing contest
between the two candidates to determine the winner.

After much of back and forth discussion, it was decided that the
contest take place on a remote frozen lake in northern Minnesota.

There were to be no observers present, and both men were to be sent
out separately on this isolated lake and return at 5 P.M.
with their
catch for counting and verification by a team of neutral parties.
At
the end of the first day, John McCain returned to the starting line
and he had ten fish.

Soon, Obama returned and had no fish.
Well, everyone assumed he was
just having another 'bad hair' day or something and hopefully, he
would catch up the next day.

At the end of the 2nd day McCain came in with 20 fish and Obama came
in again with none.

That evening, Harry Reid got together secretly with Obama and said,
'Obama, I think John McCain is a low-life, cheatin' son-of-a-gun.
I
want you to go out tomorrow and don't even bother with fishing.
Just
spy on him and see just
how he is cheating.
'

The next night (after McCain returns with 50 fish), Harry Reid asks
Obama, 'Well, tell me... how is John McCain cheating?'

Obama replied, 'Harry, you're not going to believe this, but he's
cutting holes in the ice.
'

Moral of the Story: Experience Counts.

That's very good and has a lot of truth in it.

That's completely unrealistic. McCain couldn't reel in more than one fish without having to take a nap.

But he'd still have the most fish.

Experience counts.

Absolutely. You don't have the option of voting "present" in the White House.

Well, that particular experience sure counts if you're choosing the President of the United States by an ice fishing contest.

But since the presidency is won by whoever gets a plurality, not majority, of the votes, the premise of the story is bogus.

This moment of clarity brought to you by the reality-based community.

It's clear you know nothing about McCain. If you did you would clearly understand the McCain is not a carbon copy of Bush. McCain has real life expeirence. Everything he stands for is based on his personal expriernces in the world he has lived in. He worked to earn everything he has achieved. He did not have the help of family and friends to make him who he is today. McCain is a selfmade man. Obama and Bush would not be where they are today without the help of connected friends and family members.

Maybe I don't. What is clear is that I don't think we need another rebublican in the white house for 4 more years. McCain voted w/ Bush's policy 90% of the time.

You're actually a little off....according to Congressional Quarterly's Voting Studies, in 2007 McCain voted in line with the presiden't position 95% of the time and in line with his party 90% of the some...o brother, some maverick. I guess you might know him better though than some give you credit for.
