Default Anyone but Inhofe

Thats my thoughts exactly.
I'm not claiming to know much about Andrew Rice, in fact, I wanted to start this thread to learn more about him.
I simply think Jim Inhofe is an embarrassment to Oklahoma.
His "greatest hoax" comment just shows an obvious disregard for science, and comparing the environmental movement to the Holocaust is just dumb.

Inhofe stuck playing in traffic on the Beltway would be wonderful for Oklahoma.

I would like to know the last time the old fart stepped foot into a wheat field for anything but a political commercial.

THIS is rather telling. Makes me wonder what Inhofe has to hide.

I think more than plenty of people in Oklahoma will vote for Inhofe because he did stand up and actually say that global warming is the world's biggest myth. After all, Dum is Gud in Oklahoma.

Inhofe isn't dumb but he is old and stale. The climate/environmental issue is more about his hatred for Gore than it is about science. I wouldn't give Inhofe credit for understanding the science or even caring to try. It's irrelevent to him because if Gore said the sun rises in the east, Inhofe would claim that also is the world's biggest myth.

But, Rice is Gay, according to Inhofe's horrid slandertisements so we can all rest easy voting him back to do nothing for Oklahoma besides being the Senate's grumpiest old white guy.

That, and sporting the Senate's most natural looking wig.

During my summer in DC a few years back, whenever I would tell people I met where I came from, the first thing they'd usually ask me is what's wrong with Inhofe, why we keep electing a nutjob to office, and so on. This is back when the GOP controlled both houses, and it was often a Republican partisan asking me. Pretty embarrassing. His office is incredibly hard to work with, per my conversations with staffers on both sides of the aisle. The climate change stuff is just par for the course. Inhofe is the Senate's version of Tom Delay. It seems his strategy for this campaign will be to simply run ads labeling the other guy a "librul", which I predict will be good enough for the sheeple around here to reelect him, in spite of his lousy record.

Well if you can run a campaign where all you are doing is saying "I believe in faith, family, and freedom"....then yes, the brain dead electorate in this state will keep sending him back over and over until he dies in office.

It is amazing to me how many political advertisements say absolutely nothing more than that, and that seems to be enough to get whoever elected.

Actually it is pretty amazing watching how a correctly timed political advertisement, especially a negative one, has a big effect on polling numbers. Who are these people who are deciding everything based on a 30-second TV spot and why are they voting?

And it didn't even matter when at least one of them, namely Mary Fallin, allegedly had an affair. Come to think of it, I think Mary actually said, ""I believe in faith, family, and freedom."

Yes and see how it all turns out.. Nothing being done. thats status quo.
Either we start electing people who actually deals with the problems or its time for another change in the form of goverment.
I don't mean politcal party changes I mean a new slate.
I am partial to our present form of government, the checks and balances.
But, politcians and civil servants have nothing hanging above them to encourage the work, a nice noose or a firing squad in the offing may be a good stimulis package.

Bunty, Fallin is actually who I was quoting.

GMWise...why should they do anything different? They can run a campaign with absolutely no substance and keep getting sent back. In Oklahoma...you can get elected to any office as long as you say you are for the defense of marriage, believe in the Christian God, honor traditional family values, and believe in a strong military.

You can take a dump on the "sanctity" of marriage and life all you want with your continued strain of divorces, treat everyone who doesn't believe in your view of the world as trash, and have no problem sending kids to fight your holy war.

Senate hopefuls face off in Tulsa
Election It could be rivals’ only debate before Nov. 4
Comments 3BY MICHAEL MCNUTT
Published: October 5, 2008

This week’s debate in Tulsa between U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, and state Sen. Andrew Rice will be the first meeting between the state’s senior senator and the Democrat from Oklahoma City. It also could be the only time the two spar face-to-face before the Nov. 4 general election.

Both candidates will appear a week later in Tulsa for a forum sponsored by The State Chamber, but they will not be speaking at the same time.

Discussions have been held with two Oklahoma City television stations about hosting a debate, but nothing’s been finalized.

This week’s debate is scheduled to be televised live by KJRH-2 in Tulsa and will be in front of a studio audience of about 30 selected by the Tulsa chapter of the League of Women Voters, said Steve Weinstein, the station’s news director.

A panel of three journalists will ask questions and people may submit questions to the TV station’s Web site.

Geri Prado, Rice’s campaign manager, said Rice has agreed to five debates hosted by media outlets in every region in Oklahoma.

Josh Kivett, Inhofe’s campaign manager, said Inhofe’s campaign had agreed to several dates with an Oklahoma City television station, but it didn’t work out.

A debate on an Oklahoma City TV station still is a possibility "if we can find another opportunity that fits everybody’s schedules,” Kivett said.
It goes on in another section:

Quote:
the debate
C-SPAN airing possible
The debate is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday at the studios of KJRH-2 and be broadcast live by the station.
TV stations in Oklahoma City and elsewhere will have the chance to pluck clips from the 45-minute debate, and it’s possible a national cable station, C-SPAN, may telecast the event either live or at a later time. Those outside Tulsa’s KJRH-2’s viewing area may watch the debate live at www.kjrh. com. Questions to candidates may be sent by going to http://www.kjrh .com/content/news/decision/ debate.aspx.

What’s next?
A forum hosted by the State Chamber is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Tulsa. The candidates will appear separately. Tickets are $30 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Registration deadline is Friday.

My question, "Mr. Inhofe, for what reason is it that you don't promote your stances on various issues on your website? Is it because they are unpopular?"

I think the most true telling he has ever done is "the steady hands" one ,albeit just half of it, it takes steady hands to take the bribes.

Not much better than "This guy is has been in DC for too long and is old...so you should vote for me."

Woo hoo...that won me over.

So we have no choice or hope but to keep on voting for the same senators and representatives because they do such a dandy good bang up job of voting in support of the religious right agenda? Just keep voting them back until they finally drop dead? And that's not brain dead at all, rather it's mighty damned brainy!

There was a blurb in this month's Esquire which mentioned that they considered Inhofe to be the worst member of Congress.

And yet he's probably going to win re-election here by a good ten-to-fifteen points.

That makes me sad. We're all a bunch of dopes.
