Russia has been upping it's threatening game the last few days. Did anyone see the comments where they stopped short of threatening possibly using a nuke?

It seems like the prudent thing to do at the time.

I haven't seem them do anything that isn't prudent, as long as we don't make it prudent for them to nuke us we will be fine.

Based on Russian history, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them. They are bullies and bullies are never prone to be nice to others if they can get away with being bullies.

Russia has been invaded just about as often as it has invaded, if not more often. Poland, Germany, France, the US and Great Britain have all sent troops into Russia at some point. Czech troops entered as allies during WWI, then took sides and fought in the Russian civil war.

You are talking relatively recent history. I am talking about their history, overall. And they are still thugs.

I wouldn't consider Napoleon 'recent history.'

I'm not defending communism, but the fact is Russia has been surrounded for hundreds of years by frequently hostile neighbors — just as many other European and Asian nations have been.

It's no more reasonable to expect Russia to remain sanguine about Georgia or the Ukraine joining NATO than it would have been for us to shrug off the USSR putting missiles in Cuba.
