Wouldn't that be scary? Inhofe stated today he is against overturning the FCC decision to allow cross-ownership of major newspapers and tv stations, radio stations, internet provider, phone provider...

bigger is better says Jim LOL!

I don't have any problem with this really... It's not like those other news stations do a very stellar job of covering the news anyhow. In fact, it seems they often bow to the will of VNRs, etc. whenever certain corporate interests are involved.

And the change in the newspaper-crossownership rule (which is aimed at the top 20 markets anyway) doesn't affect the existing duopoly rule, so were OPUBCO inclined to buy TV stations here, they'd be allowed only two, and only one of them could be among the top four. (We have two ownership pairs: 4/43 and 25/34.)

Inhofe is wrong for not wanting to overturn that FCC decision. After all, most of the media is down to just being controlled by two or three owners who all too often have no one to compete with in their local media markets, but with themselves, especially as far at the radio stations are concerned. That's the newest reason why I'll refuse to vote for Inhofe in November. Another reason he was just one of a handful of senators who voted against the tax rebate checks. And I thought he thought with Republicans that we the people know how to spend our money better than the government. Join with me and don't vote for him.
