Default liquor law and oklahoma restaurant question

Could I bring my own bottle of wine to a restaurant?

Is it up to the restaurant or is it a state law?

All I know is that most restaurants won't let you bring any outside food or drink in. You'd probably be best off calling the restaurant in question and just asking them, but my guess is no.

ABLE prevents it. No alcohol brought into or out of establishments.

They could loose their liquor license.

Actually you can take a partially consumed bottle of wine out of a restaurant if it is corked from what I understand (I have done this and have been told that ABLE allows it)

Maybe it is just the liquor by the drink then. eg You can't take it out in a cup.

You can't bring in, but I know at one time an establishment could be licensed to allow you to take an unfinished bottle out if it was recorked and in a sack (wine only).

I remember hearing about bringing wine for a special occasion and the restaurant charging a corkage fee.. approx $10 .. I can't remember if it was OK or not. I'm thinking this was in CA or on our cruise ships.

Maybe call the restaurant in question and ask.

In California, it's common for restaurants to allow outside wine and then charge corkage. Even the finer ones tend to allow it, although their fees can be hefty.

I've never seen this in Oklahoma but it's hard to imagine how liquor laws would prevent it -- especially since it specifically allows you to take out re-corked bottles.

If you find out more by taking to restaurants, please share what you learn.
