Default Ailing boy gets dog.

This is a real sad story about a boy with a very rare disease. This disease, progeria, causes accelerated aging in children. By the time they are age 13, they usually die of heart disease or stroke.

This story is about the little boy and his new specialized dog "Hobbs."

I know this is such a sad story, I saw some of it on the news too. While I don't mean to trivialize his illness I think this picture shows the happiness that is in his eyes at being able to share his life with his new friend and guardian angel.

I have seen documentries on children with progeria many times. They are some of the happiest and loving children on the face of the earth. Very warm, very loving and very compassionate.

It really moves me to see the happiness they show, but also breaks my heart because I know they will be unable to live to see adulthood.

Yes. The happiness shown on the boy's face says it all.
