Default Asian Cafe on Britton

I tried this little chinese take out place on Britton last weekend. Very tasty. My garlic chicken had some good spice to it and my wife's Mongolian Beef was good too. It used to be a Taco Bell, but they did well in fixing up. They seemed to have lots of spicy dishes and mixed in traditional chinese with some thai dishes. If you like Asian food, I recommend giving this place a shot.

(PS is this the right place for this? I looked for a food board, but didn't see it. )

South side of the street between Penn and Western. Closer to western.

Sorry, that's as close as I can get it right now.

I know the place you're talking about. It's on Britton between Western & Waverly (the street that runs right next to Ace Hardware)

I'll have to give it a go sometime.

Hunan in Casady Square is pretty good, as well. I like the atmosphere there -- it reminds me of when I was a kid, I guess.

Ate inside this restaurant for the first time today.
It is very cute and clean on the inside, but they need to hire a landscaper for the outside! I'm suprised anyone will look past the overgrown lawn to give it a try!

The #6 Coconut Red Curry w/chicken is great!
The lunch special comes with soup (I had hot & sour) & egg roll (seemed like more of a spring roll, was fried but not typical egg roll)
+ tea for a total of less than $8

ample portions and friendly service
I'll be going back!

There is a drive up window also and several people came inside for take-out

Funny someone brought this place up. I have lived in that area for twelve years and have seen many restaurants come and go at that location. A couple of asian attempts, a pizza joint, and also a place that sold gyros. None of them lasted very long. My wife and I had noticed that the new asian attempt had been there for a while, but we were reluctant to try it. Then, I read this post yesterday and told my wife about the rave reviews, so we gave it a try last night. My wife being asian and having lived in Singapore for twelve years is quite the expert on chinese, thai, and indian cuisines. She got the Mongolian beef and the coconut red curry and raved about them both. I did not get any for myslef becuase I still had some chile rellenos and carne asada to finish off from our previous night's dinner a Poblano Grill in Northpark Mall. I am not a Chinese fan but love Thai and Indian, and after sampling hers I must say the two dishes were delicious. While we were at the drive-thur window I asked the young lady how long they have been there and she replied that it had been about a year and a half now. We will be going back for more!

On a side note, we had tried the Poblano Grill the first time when they had put a location on Northwest Expressway next to where Office Max was, and which was originally the Highlander Bowling Alley. I remembered the food being okay, but on the bland side. I will always give a restaurant a second try, so we decided to give there fairly new location at Northpark Mall a try. Good, but still a little on the bland taste side. I know there are different types of 'Mexican food': Tex Mex, Northern Mexico, Southern Mexico, Pacific Mexico, and my favorite New Mexican (because of the red and green chiles that are grown and used in the recipes there). I know there are probably at least a hundred of 'Mexican' restaurants in the OKC area, and a bunch of little ones that have poppped up on the south side in the last few years, and I have tried most of the ones that have been around for a while. But, there is only one that I always go back to if I want great service, great food with great flavor, and most of all, consistency. Oh, where you ask? Casa Perico. They have a place at 63rd and Meridian and a larger one at 122nd at Penn which is the one we frequent most often. I know everyone has their favorite dish, like my wife likes their carne asada, and I always have their Plato Mexicano with a slight modifaction, which turns out to be a cheese relleno, cheese enchilada, and a crispy shredded beef taco. I have been eating there for years, and it doesn't matter if I go on a weekday or a weekend, the 63rd or 122nd location, my order is always made the same and tastes the same. If you like really hot stuff, ask your server (the nicest and most ready to please you will find in any restaurant) to bring you their habenero sause. They warm it up in a little skillet and will bring it with your chips and regualr salsa. But be warned: it will light you up! We mix it with the regular salsa which makes it great for chip scooping or adding to your tacos.

Anyone else here like Casa Perico as much as we do?

I also enjoy Casa Perico. I don't see a lot of difference between most Mexican in town but this one never disappoints.
