Default The Art Institutes

It would be really cool if The Art Institutes put a campus in downtown OKC. It would be catalyst for creative growth in OKC as well as bring more students downtown. It would be great to have a school that focuses on degrees in culinary, design, fashion, and media arts.

With the possibility of OCU bringing their law school downtown and the launch of ACM@UCO in Bricktown, I was thinking of what other opportunities there would be to grow higher education downtown.

What higher education institution would you like to see downtown?

I edited my post to make the question more specific. I was wondering what higher eduction institutions people would like to see downtown. I think growing the student population downtown would do wonders for growth.

Most of the capuses in this region are not in downtown, none of the Texas campuses are. The Dallas one is near Northpark Mall, Houston has two, on on Loop 610 West and the other out in far north Houston and the Austin campus is actually in Round Rock (far north Austin). The Kansas City campus is in Overland Park, Denver's is in the Capitol Hill area which is pretty close to downtown. Most are in nondescript office buildings like UoP.

I think the Film Exchange area would be good location for any of those campuses, something more akin to the SCAD model than the suburban office model of many of these type of schools.

In architecture/interiors I wish there were more practiced based curriculum options like The Boston Architectural College, the only option that I found similar was the NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego. The BAC is in the Back Bay area which is decidedly urban, not being familiar with San Diego but judging from the map it looks to be in the downtown area.

The Seattle campus is in downtown on the water. That is the only one I have seen.

How about Devry or ITT, I know that Devry has their campus somewhere on the Northwest Expressway, It will be really great if they move downtown.

I think places like Devry don't really benefit downtown much because they are 99% non-traditional commuter students.
