2007 NCHBC "A hush fell over the crowd as the Oklahoma City Storm homeschool basketball team met their opponents in the middle of the court. All eyes focused on the players and their coaches as they bowed their heads. This wasn't a mid-court meeting. This was prayer. The scene is being played out countless times at 30 gymnasiums across the metro area as the 16th annual Christian Home School Basketball Championships — packing an estimated $9 million economic impact — continue this week. McDonald said this is Oklahoma City's seventh consecutive year to host the tournament. He said the event has drawn 300 teams from 32 states, including as far away as Alaska. He said about 10,000 people are in Oklahoma City to view the basketball games. About 3,300 players and their coaches are making sure their fans get what they came for as they watch their favorite teams compete."
