Here is a picture of me in my old XK-SS. If you look close you can see a reflection of one of my old Corvettes in the fender.
![]() ...Or maybe I just wished that was my car. Sometimes a faded memory isn't all bad! LOL |

I had a candy apple red 56 Chevy Belaire with that black naughahyde interior
done by that place just west of Agnew on SW 29th(?) 283 bored out, holley carb, hooker headers, goodyear tires. One of the coolest cars in the CHHS parking lot 69-71. There was a faster car however in the parking lot owned by Rick Greenroyd. Any relation to the Greenroyd that posts here? |

Some of us raced at Jimmy Nix track on Council. Don't remember if Rick did or not. I knew I couldn't beat him. My next car was a '66 SS 396 chevelle that I
"might" could have given him a run with. Sold it and went to college. |

Ricks car ran pretty good, It allways needed a rear end to make it complete, and he never got on for it. (high school guys never had lots of money)

I never had "any" money. My dad was a mechanic and my best friends dad worked for Masterbuilt Motors where we got a cheap shortblock and built it up. I needed a rear end too, probably had a 273 I'm guessing and that's why it had a slow 1/4 time IMO.

I started out with a 48 plymouth with suicide doors, then a 57 chevy bel air. 69 mach 1, 70 road runner. 73 corvette, 79 corvette , 2000 corvette, 82 gmc caballero, now I'm restoring a 57 chevy like I had in high school. I still have the 82 gmc caballero and the 57 chevy. Sure wish I had my muscle cars back. I'm looking for a 58 chevy impala if anyone know where one is that need some fixing up.

MrBob you had some great cars. The fastest thing I drove for a friend at the strip was a '69 Nova SS 396(L78). It ran A-purestock, then A-Stock w/slicks and some valve tweaking, holley carb, edelbrock mani and ran in the high 12's.
And he drove it to work. He went to Nam and his wife still liked the track so I drove it for awhile. Always wanted a 68-69 Camaro Z-28 with that screamin 302. Used to go to Seltzer and just sit in one. |

Coming in from the west (Highway 39) through Purcell it is on the second street south of the highway and just south of Pearson's lumber yard. There is also a 69ish 2-door Suburban down there...the guy wants $ 1,050.00 for it....He also has a 2-door 56 station wagon in the back. Call me if you don't understand the directions.... |
