Default Dallas Cowboys Sign Owens...

I don't know what Jerry Jones was thinking, but I think he just made the biggest mistake he has ever made by signing Owens. Owens may be talented, but he has caused problems with every team he has ever been on.

Cowboys sign Owens

ASSOCIATED PRESS
IRVING, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys have called an afternoon news conference at which they're expected to announce the signing of volatile wide receiver Terrell Owens. The Cowboys are not saying what the news conference is about, but earlier today, an official involved in the negotiations told The Associated Press a deal was close.

Owens is among the most talented receivers in the NFL, but he's also been one of the most divisive personalities in the game.

He left San Francisco on bad terms and was released by Philadelphia last week after causing more turmoil with that team.

He hasn't played for Parcells yet.

Give it a chance.

I know in the Barry Switzer era that players were always getting in trouble for something. It seems as if they spent more time in jail than on the playing field. Switzer is a loser and he didn't care about the players. They followed his example, it's just that Switzer never got caught. He's a con man.

Parcells will not put up with Owens crap. I don't see Dallas doing very well with Owens on their team.

This is very true, Switzer let them get away with all sorts of stuff but of course in the end the players got cought and Barry cam and bailed them out. Even at ou Barry would woudl come to the morman pd abil his players out and walk out laughing about the whole situation.

I'm not so sure about this thinking that Parcells will be able to deal with him. In the NFL, the coaches are walked over by the big-name players. Owens will turn a deaf ear to Parcells and laugh in his face. What can happen? It's been shown over and over that nothing can happen except one deciding that the team isn't big enough for both of them. In the end, Parcells will end up just as frustrated as everyone else. BTW, was Parcells at the press conference - or just Jones? I am thinking it was just Jones, which is interesting in itself. Huge mistake by the Cowboys organization. Huge.

I'm really hoping that they just signed him to be a tackling dummy for Roy Williams to practice on.

I'd pay good money to watch that practice.

I'm just glad he didn't sign with Denver.

apparently Jerry and the crew have structured into his 3 year contract a good behavior clause. As to what exactly it says, I have no idea.
