NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback and Sooner legend Jason White said today he is ending his pro football career.

White had been competing to be the third quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, but said he has the head and heart to play in the NFL but not the knees. He has had reconstructive surgery on both knees.

White won the Heisman in 2003 as a junior and is the Sooners' all-time passing leader with nearly 8,000 yards and 81 touchdown passes.

White signed with the Titans in May as an undrafted rookie after an unsuccessful tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs. "

I'm really not surprised. Maybe he can come back to OU and be a grad assistant like Heupel did.
