Default Quincy Carter cut

Okay, I'm a little surprised that the Dallas Cowboys cut Quincy Carter. And they replaced him with Vinny Testaverde. What are those people thinking??? Might as well bring Troy Aikman and Emmet Smith back at this rate. I never really thought he was that good, but I was still surprised.

From what I heard on the news this morning, ole Quincy Carter has a substance abuse problem. He had gone into rehab for help, however, according to Jerry Jones, he failed the drug test that he recently took. Jerry Jones told the media that cutting Carter from the Cowboys was not a hard decision, mainly because Carter is still on drugs, and Jones certainly doesn't want someone like that on his team.

Parcell's also noted that it did not matter who it was, that anyone can be replaced. Everyone thought that Quincy Carter would never be cut because of his athletic abilities, however, I actually have to agree with Jerry Jones decision. Carter needs help. Now, if Barry Switzer was still coach, I believe Carter would still be on the team. All Switzer wanted to do was win...at any cost. If you will notice, when Switzer leaves a team, the arrest rate goes down. He is no disciplinarian. I wonder when we will hear about a Yard Dawg getting arrested for something? Barry may not coach the team, but he is part owner. Wherever Barry is coach, you can assure that some players will be arrested for something.

Yeah, I remember after Switzer left OU, McAlester had a pretty good footbal team for awhile. Not the high school but the prison!!!!

If this is the case, I think Jerry Jones made a good choice. I'm not generally a fan of Jerry Jones, but I think Quincy obviously needs to get his life together before he returns to the NFL. He's not alone though. Ricky Williams recently had to retire for the same problem.
