Default Credit Cards?

Do you use them? If so, do you take advantage of promotions such as 5% cash backs? Do you pay off the balance every month? Any tips on how you have paid them off?

Some things are unavoidable.. and credit is good to build up for future major purchases but all things in moderation...

So many people get caught in the cycle of credit card abuse.

Here is something we might all think about since this is a new year and we can make a new start...

Make a goal to pay off credit cards today.

If you are carrying a high balance with a high interest rate, call the company today and ask if they will lower the rate to what their competitor is offering.

Find a low interest card - preferable 0% and balance transfer from a department store card such as Target, JC Penneys, Foleys etc etc... I would go as far to say NEVER use these high interest cards unless you pay the balance in full religiously .. some have rates exceeding 21% - You almost can never pay them down with these rates!

Pay more than the minimum payment each and every month..

Make every effort to pay on time. Don't pay late. Your low rate will rise if you do.. and you will get huge fees tacked onto your balance.

These are some ways to combat the vicious cycle of credit cards.. Anymore ideas?
