This is my first post. I just moved to OKC with my wife. We discovered a great little hidden gem called EL Portale Cafe Y Restaurant located on 1903 Classen Blvd North.
It is a Guatamalan restaurant. The food was very authentic and fresh. Definitely not your usual tex-mex meal. The staff was very friendly. The atmosphere was great too. There were lots of big posters of Guatamala on the walls. They were playing this really nice Latin American music...all this makes you feel like you are on vacation! I had two flour tortiallas, with black beans in the middle, topped with a scrammbled egg, and avocodo and salsa. Sounded kind of strange when I first read it, but I was very impressed. You could taste all the ingredients. They are only open until 5pm though. If you are into coffee they are suppose to be big into that too. It is located on 1903 Classen Blvd North. |

That sounds great, I'll have to try it. Welcome to OKC. And by the way, we put the directions in front of the street names here. As in North Classen. Hope it helps you blend in a little.
