    As we were first to report on this summer, the historic building at 400 N. Walnut sold to local investors in August and plans have now been revealed for a dramatic redevelopment.

    The structure was originally built for the OKC Board of Education in 1919 and was then home to the Toll / Turnpike authority starting in the late 50's. More recently, it's been a variety of other uses and is currently vacant. 17,632 total square feet, sits on just under .7 acres.

    The new plans call for significant additions and modifications that will transform the building into something almost completely unrecognizable from it's current appearance.

    The City of Oklahoma City recently acquired the historic Santa Fe Station in downtown Oklahoma City with the long-term plan of converting it to a transportation hub.


    As of today, the station onlysees two Amtrak trains a day -- the Heartland Flyer -- that shuttles to and from Ft. Worth.

    However, the new streetcar will start to roll in a couple of years, there is on-going talk about expanding Amtrak service, the hope is one day commuter rail will be running to Edmond, Norman, Midwest City and beyond, and there is the possibility of the bus station being integrated.

    Zoe's recently opened a location near Quail Springs Mall and also has a location in Norman and two in Tulsa.
