  • Hopscotch opens on N. May with unique blend of good food and energetic bar

After several construction delays and a soft opening of the bar, Hopscotch is now fully open for business at 10909 N. May, just north of Hefner Road.

The former Dugout space was expanded and thoroughly remodeled with a large two-sided bar and plenty of booths and table seating. A large outdoor patio faces May Avenue.

The venture is a partnership which includes Joe Jungmann, the operator of Sauced on Paseo and the Paseo Grill. Jungmann is a veteran of the Hall Smith Restaurant group and helped open KD's Southern Cuisine and Wes Welker's Sports Bar.

Local attorney Dale Cazes is also a partner and the same group will soon be launching Hudson Park on the site of the old Foodies diner in Midtown.

Heading up the bar operations are partners Jarrod Holley and Martin Barrett, with several years of experience in helping run some of OKC's most popular watering holes.

The setup at Hopscotch allows for counter ordering or full service at the bar.

The menu is a blend of appetizers, burgers and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. See below for full bill of fare.

The bar offers dozens of local brews on tap, a full wine and cocktail list and on the weekends DJ's spin videos as the space transforms to an energetic atmosphere after the kitchen closes at 10PM.

Crowds for the bar-only first week have been strong, an indicator of a solid operation and pent-up demand in the North May corridor.

Hours are 11AM to 2AM every day.
