• Organic Squeeze to open in Automobile Alley

Organic Squeeze, which just last January opened up its second area location in Midtown, has submitted plans to expand to Automobile Alley.

The organic juice and smoothie bar will lease space in a warehouse owned by Chris Salyer on NW 8th just east of Broadway.

The Midtown Organic Squeeze is less than a mile away but the expansion is a testament to the growing housing density in the central core of the city. The Midtown location is in the 252-unit Edge complex and the newest store will be just to the west of the proposed new location is the 330-unit Metropolitan apartments, which welcomed in first tenants just months ago.

The area of Automobile Alley near the rail road tracks continues to boom in anticipation of a new quiet zone which would eliminate the need for trains to sound their horns in the area. The quiet zone project is expected to be complete before the end of the year.

New businesses that have opened east of Broadway in recent months include 9th Street Barking Lot dog day care, the Fit Pig, and Cultivar. Future projects include a shipping container development on NW 7th and Yuzo Sushi + Tapas which will open next month.

The first Organic Squeeze opened in Nichols Hills Plaza in early 2014.
