  • Old Stage Center site to be used for construction trailers and gravel parking

After the controversial demolition of downtown's Stage Center theater, OG&E subsequently announced in January the shelving of their plans for an ambitious new corporate headquarters and promised to “beautify and maintain the property until an appropriate development can be secured”.

Plans submitted this week to the Downtown Design Review Committee reveal the intention to move seven construction trailers from the BOK Park Plaza site directly to the north, and place them on the OG&E property facing the Myriad Gardens. The submitted site plan also shows a gravel drive and gravel parking.

OG&E has been in the process of filling the large hole left when Stage Center was removed last year. For months, the area was filled with stagnant water.

The plans also indicate the remainder of the property will be covered with grass.

The application has already been approved by the design committee and ground work is underway in the area the trailers will be located.

The 27-story BOK Park Plaza and two large parking garages are well under construction with completed slated for late 2017.
