  • Park House restaurant switching to part-time status and will emphasize events

After a run of just over two years in the Myriad Gardens, the Park House had it's last night as a full-time restaurant this Sunday and now will only be open for downtown special events and private parties.

The new name will be Park House Kitchen & Catering and for the time being will be open before most Thunder home games or when there are other major events downtown, such as performances at the Civic Center.

Owner Pete Holloway said in a phone interview there was just not enough consistent business at the restaurant to keep it open on a regular basis.

Holloway and his wife Sheree are experienced restaurateurs and currently run two Cafe 501 locations as well as Boulevard Steakhouse.

After the Myriad Gardens received a substantial makeover as a part of Project 180, the shell restaurant space sat vacant for quite a while before the Holloways struck a deal to operate Park House.

On a go-forward basis, diners can check the restaurant's website to view their schedule and book reservations. Also, private events will take a more prominent role at the space.

The Myriad Gardens Foundations owns the building and has been a great partner, Holloway said.
