  • Ted's Cafe Escondido, Garage Burgers start at Outlet Shoppes

As we first reported in Januray, several new businesses are planned for the western edge of the Outlet Shoppes.

Building permits were recently issued for a new Ted's Escondido Cafe and Garage Burgers and Beer, both affiliated with the Hal Smith Restaurant Group.

Ted's will be a $2 million, 6,733 square feet building with a large bar area, a tortilla station and two outdoor dining areas under pergolas.

Garage Burgers will be 5,000 square feet at a cost of $950,000.

In addition, OnCue Express recently bought the U.S. Star gas station that fronts Council. Plans released to Outlet Shoppes employees show OnCue taking an additional large tract directly behind U.S. Star as well.

Those same plans also show a Jimmy's Egg and Taco Mayo to be built along Reno.

The Outlet Shoppes continue to thrive, with better than expected revenues and a third expansion project underway since opening in 2011. Recently announced tenants include The North Face.
