Its looking like OU has the advantage with the computers now, at least a few of them...I can't believe the coaches would jump TX over OU, so that leaves the AP poll..Hopefully they're not buying any of Mack Browns spin.
In early returns Sunday, OU leads Texas in BCS - CBSSports.com |

> It is if you want to debate OU football.
What debate? I was looking for clarification, not advocating a position. The first post began "I remained confused" and the second made it clear why I was confused (having thought TT had two losses after its last Norman game.) But hey, thanks for playing, even if it was a different game on a different field.

the ap poll ranks ou at #4, behind texas by 8 votes... but keep in mind that the ap poll no longer factors into the bcs calculation. still waiting on the harris poll results... -M |

harris poll ranks ou #4 behind texas... with 6 points separating the two.
so... both human polls reporting, each 1/3 of the equation: coaches poll has ou #2, texas #3. harris poll has ou #4, texas #3. one of six computer rankings reporting, altogether 1/3 of the equation: sagarin has ou #1, texas #2 we're curretnly waiting on these formulae: anderson & hester richard billingsley colley matrix kenneth massey peter wolfe i'd suspect the remaining computers will favor ou given their quality win on the road versus #12 ok state. -M |

it's ou vs. mizzou in arrowhead. ou is #2 in the bcs followed by #3 texas.
ou ended up being #1 in three of six computer polls, #2 in two of them and #4 in one. texas was #1 in one poll, #2 in two, #3 in two and #4 in one. total score ended up being .935 ou, .9223 texas. that's a difference of .0127. texas led by .0084 last week. whew. -M |

To make this clear....
Oklahoma vs Florida will use the Orange Bowl stadium, but the title game will NOT be the Orange Bowl. It is the FedEx BCS National Championship Bowl. Odd, yes I know... How in the world can FedEx have two.... This one and the Orange Bowl?! Oh well, just clearing up the confusions. |

Wow! I didn't know that. Something new to learn! haha Thx guys!
Can't they stop rotating the bowl titles each year? I don't like it when they do that. To me, I think it is pointless. OU wins the Orange Bowl national title back in 2000 and to me it seems that this year the Orange Bowl isn't the national title and it degrades the past trophies. Did I type that out right? lol Ya get the idea. Say for example, one year OU wins the Rose Bowl (not national champ) and the next year the Rose Bowl is the national champ title and two other teams play it, then OU will say... "We have the Rose Bowl trophy!" or it make the Rose Bowl trophy temporary top champ when it wasn't at the time it was given. Just strange that way. Really, I just want them to stop rotating the titles. Decide on pernament titles, then have all the past trophies changed to reflect the correct title name for its ranking place. |

Next year, the Pasadena, CA will host the BCS Title game and it will be played at the Rose Bowl, but it will not be the Rose Bowl event. It's being held a week before the BCS title game. I think it's pretty clear as to how it works.

They added the Championship game at an existing facility, so the "bowl games" (Rose, Orange, Sugar and Fiesta) are still the same and the championship game is something entirely different. I think that game may have been added in 2006.

After reading the sports page of the Daily Oklahoman this morning I was left asking myself two questions. Is Barry Tramel actually interested in sports? And has he sold his soul to E. Z. Million. (gag reflex)
http://newsok.com/jones-new-house-a-...lick=columnist Anyone who is a real sports fan who has attended the OU-Texas game in Dallas knows where that game should be played. The Cotton Bowl. You can say all you want about Jerry world. Im sure its a nice stadium and Im looking forward to seeing it when OU takes on Byu in sept. But football, especially at schools like Ou and Texas is about more than two teams playing a game. Its about pride, tradition, family traditions, rivalry, love and hate, and memories. Football is a game meant to be played outside (no matter the conditions) with the fans in their seats watching the game cheering on their team til the end. Not about comfy lounge chairs, air-conditioning, bars, overpriced parking, tofu rolls or how many flat screen tvs you can watch the game from under the stands while your seat goes unused. And its definitely not about feeding the ego of multi-millionaire businessmen who care about profit more than the game. OU-Texas should mean more than that. And it does. Its about tradition. The rotc run, the state fair, the driving down in caravans of decorated cars and buses. Stopping for the bevo bash. Painting bridges and crossing the red river. (bridges have a lot to do with the history of the haterd/rivalry between OU and Texas) Its about friday night confrontations with rival fans, saturday morning hangovers....and pride. Its old school football. The way it was meant to be. Tramels article will sway some younger less fervent fans. But not real football fans. I never was a big Tramel fan. If you listen to him on the radio he is indeciesive and whiny. Not traits that have much in common with football. If you read his article from December E.Z. Million has a point you'll see that he has been friends with EZ for years and is now starting to think like him. But is he on the payroll? There was a time when Trammel (sp) was a very good writer. He is still a fair writer, but I believe given the downward spiral of newspapers, he's been given a charter to write incendiary columns merely to incite discussion. I'm not sure how much of his stuff he really believes.
I agree absolutely and incontrovertibly that OU-Texas belongs in the "original" Cotton Bowl stadium. They've fixed the stadium, made it habitable and playable, and that's all we need. Taking OU-Texas out of the State Fair of Texas borders on the criminally insane. |

I heard. OU relies on Sam WAY TOO MUCH. Did they not learn from last year?! They did NOT prepare in the event of Sam being injured again. Now he was and look what happened. Altho I did not watch the game, it is still totally pathetic.

Even with Sam in the game, they were playing like a wanna be from the Sunbelt Conference (no offense to them). Sorry. People can say the game was lost because Sam went out, but OU did not deserve to win that game. They played HORRIBLY slop and undisciplined. If anything, the lose will help them figure out what is broke. With an "easy" game next week...maybe they can get things fixed. Playing like they are now they lose Texas, OSU, Tech...and games like Nebraska, Kansas, Miami and Tulsa become close. Heck Baylor is doing really well, so they may have a shot with this crap team that is playing right now.
