Not happy with the way they ended the game. They could've gone for the touchdown or at least kick for 3. OU gives up too easily when they're far ahead, which is a disappointment. They need to push it, work all they got to remain a contender.

Now, which is better...

Tech wins vs OSU or the other way around? Not sure which is best, but do hope that OU defeat both of them.

Now, would someone explain why OU is off next week? We already had an off week and now we get this historic 2 off weeks? That hurts us big time. Isn't every team suppose to have equal amount of matches?

I think it has something to do with the Bedlam game being the last weekend of November.

Everyone is playing 12 regular season games, OU has traditionally tried to have a week off before the Big 12 Championship Game but the conference has moved the OU-OSU game to Thanksgiving weekend for TV pretty much every year. That is why they end up with an open week (or two) in the season.

If you keep the hammer down in every game all the time then you end up with the negative media backlash like what occurred after some in the media slammed OU for beating A&M 77-0 year ago, they didn't watch the game and didn't see Paul Thompson pretty much going to a knee inside the A&M 20 in the late third or early fourth quarter. You need some media help to get into the BCS game if you don;t win all of them. I do think the team tends to go into a "second quarter swoon" when they run out to a quick lead, and it gets a bit frustrating. Easing up in the fourth is a different thing entirely and understandable.

I agree with bluedog. Aggie fans are still up in arms about our having score 77 on them, accusing Stoops of intentionally running up the score. Yesterday - even with Hazle - we had to work at one point to NOT score. When you are up by 45+ points, it really is bad manners to keep scoring, especially late in the 4th quarter.

Glad we have the week off to rest. Not glad that Tech has that same week off. November 22nd is going to be a big, Big, BIG game. Wouldn't surprise me if it were a SportsCenter game....

It will probably be the ABC 7:00 game on the 22nd, we will be there for it. My wife is a Tech grad so we come up for that one and use my dad's OU season tix every other year when the game is in Norman. Most of the Tech games that we have come up for since I moved to Austin has been a night game, she just hopes it isn't too cold.

YEP I just checked ESPN and the game is going to be a 7 pm kickoff on ABC. On the good side that will give the crowd plenty of time to "prepare" for the game. On the down side it could be pretty darn chilly. I'll be there regardless......cold weather is perfect for big games in November. It should be one heck of a game. Boomer Sooner.

Last game at home for Bradford?...Weak QB class and several mock drafts have him going to KC at #3

He only has to look back at Brian Brohm with Louisville who stayed another year and dropped from a possible top 5 pick in '07 to being taken 56th in '08

Hope Sam doesn't read okctalk

Wasn't something that I expected!

At the end, when they ran into the cheerleaders, I knew, they were avoiding the touchdown. That's when I told mom, don't expect a touchdown.

The announcers, they were talking if OU would hang 70+ on Texas Tech and one was saying that the only thing that matters in BCS is style points. Can someone explain the definition of style points?

OMG OMG OMG WE ACTUALLY WON!!!!!!!!!

if your 2nd and 3rd stringers can hang points on a board, that's not bad manners, that's bad defense, nothing more, nothing less. Now if you're pounding away with your first team late ina game and you are 40 points plus up, that's plain stupid

Alabama and Florida didn't play, but don't expect them to drop, cuz Texas Tech didn't drop last week. I expect OU to be #3.

Now, look at how good Texas Tech were and immediately they failed. I hope the same can be said for Alabama.

Thankfully Alabama and Florida will play eachother. That will eliminate either of them from the top. Unless Auburn or Florida State beats them to it. And of course, OU has to beat osu.

Well, OU only has .06 to make up in the computers to jump Texas.
That should happen with a convincing win over OSU.
The best part is, Texas needs OU to win so they have a shot at the conference title. Of course, they can't overlook A&M.

My wish: OU wins the conference title, and wins the rematch with Texas for the national title, in Miami. of course, this scenario requires help from Auburn plus some others, but that would be really cool.

Well, Florida did have a game against The Citadel, which is a Division I-AA team on par with Tenn-Chattanooga. Florida won 70-19.

We got back to Austin about 7:00 tonite, we saw many cars with OU or Tech stuff heading back south on the drive back. I don't recall any others with both like ours.

I remain confused on how OU can have a shot at the conference title, assuming the Pokes don't make my confusion moot.

OU - 1 loss, same as Texas, but OU lost to Texas.
Assuming both win out, doesn't Texas, by virtue of the earlier whupping on OU go represent south division in Big 12 championship? Doesn't OU need A&M to be a mega spoiler here, as well as needing to get past the Pokes (no assurance on that one this year)

I don't really care who won, OU or Texas. They both lost a game. Didn't Texas Tech killed Texas? If so, Texas couldn't even do anything. OU did! OU must play in Big 12 Championship, we need another game to boost the points for bid at BCS.

I heard a quote from Coach Stoops that I liked. He said that if they feel they can't rate OU ahead of Texas because of our loss, then they shouldn't rate Texas ahead of Tech for the same reason.

Moot point now, as TT has two losses. But come the day after turkey day, if OU and Texas are the only two teams in the south division with one loss, and OU's loss is to Texas, I don't understand how OU can take the division. Maybe end up playing Texas in a BCS, sure, I see that can happen, but OU in the Big 12 Championship game is where I don't follow. It seems Texas takes the south outright, again assuming both win out this month.

as of 11/22 texas tech has one loss... ou handed them their first loss of the season. that's the only thing keeping ou in the hunt for the big 12 championship.

yes... but what's happening this season is more complex. in the big xii south there are currently three teams with one loss... ut, tt & ou. ut beat ou. tt beat ut. ou beat tt. normally, the team that won head-to-head would represent the south division, but this 'perfect storm' creates a three-way tie, an endless loop of who beat who. in such a situation, the team with the highest bcs ranking is chosen as a tie-breaker. ut is currently #2 in the bcs followed very closely by ou.

given that each of those three teams wins their final season game... tt stays around #8 having beaten unranked baylor. ut doesn't move much having beaten unranked texas a&m. ou nudges out ut in the bcs having beaten #12 osu. ou is ahead of ut in the bcs and therefore represents the big xii south.

tt beating baylor is pretty much a certainty. surprisingly, ut has lost to a&m in their last two meetings... so they could be handed another surprise... but they do have the advantage of playing at home. ou will definitely have their hands full with osu since they're playing in stillwater against a very strong and very eager opponent.

My bad. Somehow I thought TT came into the past weekend with 1 loss, not sure why, but I did.

I also not aware BCS ranking was a deciding factor for a division W/L tie and thought it was all decided internal to the division. That's why I was confused on how OU could have any opportunity to nudge Texas out of the south if both won out this month.

Guess I oughta just root for A&M and hope. It's less confusing that way. But lawdy, don't tell my poppa. That wouldn't sit well with him at all.

Someone is not paying much attention. We've only heard 1,000 times about the 3 WAY TIE!!! Meaning no one has a head to head advantage.
