Default Grade the Oklahoma educational system

If you have knowledge of the Oklahoma educational system, it's time to rate it. Give it a grade.

That's a hard one because parts of OK have excellent schools and some areas are subpar.

In my opinion, it depends more on the parents/students than the school.

Whether or not a student succeeds or fails is their own choice regardless of venue.

Has a lot to do with the district as well. OKC Public School district is in such bad shape do to choices made back in the day, when crosstown busing was started. They could've followed Tulsa's lead, and refused to accept Crosstown busing.

Also, the OKC Public Schools refused to attempt to pass any other bond issues, when the govt. stepped in and forced them to split the monies evenly between east side and west side schools. They figured if they were going to be forced to spend money on east side schools, they simply wouldn't spend any money at all. They'd let the schools deteriorate.

I don't know about that. Both of my kids are on the honor roll at school, and they both go to OKC Public schools. I agree that public schools could do better, but the teachers are still doing an outstanding job with what little they have to work with.

That's an absolutely silly remark. Care to expand on that or were you just trying to be flippant?
