I have my college degree, however, it does not matter. Everybody is equal on this forum, no matter what education they have.

Your dig at me is noted.

Where was it implied that they weren't? A degree is just a certificate of accomplishment that says you have been to a few classes and know certain things. It does, however, help in conversation to know which people are experts in which subjects.

Adam, this time, without showing visible contempt for me, what is your degree in? My guess would be a B.A. in criminal justice.

Last I checked though, I thought that the area PD's only required 20 hours, so that in itself would be an accomplishment.

As for PD's, I don't get that they really value degrees and grades a lot. A buddy of mine has a criminal justice degree (4.0 GPA), is an AF first seargent, and has been turned down at least once at the OKC PD for whatever reason. He's applying again though.

It's not necessarily an accomplishment of what you know, but rather what you are willing to know. Some of the smartest people refuse to go to college. I call that the Stupid Disorder.

The truth is that today's job market doesn't care how well you CAN do a job, but how many slips of paper certify you to do a good job. I have a BA from Rice in Houston in Empirical Microeconomics with a minor in Marketing, and my MD from the University of Oklahoma. However I am not board certified, and had many disasters back in my residence training...

I think my MD was the biggest waste of money I have ever done, and that I should have gotten my BA in architecture. Or maybe gone to law school.

But I am stuck with my life, and sometimes I feel like I wouldn't have it any other way.

40 hours at OU

A year of HVAC in high school that I took without any intent on ever working in the field.

Appliance repair certification when I was in in high school that was a waste of money because it was so simple to repair the machines I worked on. At least to me it was simple.

Well, as I said education does not make anyone better than anyone. It just exemplifies their will to learn, and prepare themselves to exceed in real life.

Also their will to go along with society.

Education....AAS in Electronic System Technology
I actually dropped out of high school though. Today I'm a Program Manager with quite a few higher educated persons working for me. Not to toot my own horn but a demonstrated ability to lead, direct, make decisions, and take responsibility can really take you far.....add in there shooting straight with the upper level management and making sensible recommendations.
