BDP, speaking of good NYC style pizza by the slice, you have to check out Gaetano's in Edmond off of 15th and Broadway.

There's a good NY Style pizza by the slice place I went to in Colorado Springs in one of their nice shopping centers. I don't remember the name.

City Bites would be cool for that spot. It's local, fast, somewhat cheap, and has a cool, unique atmosphere.

City Bites would be terrific -- and you can actually get stuff there that's good for you unlike most of Bricktown.

I have to say I have been in the situation where I wished there was more fast food in Bricktown. Not for the price--I expect to pay higher dollar in an entertainment district, but just for the speed. Usually it's when I'm on my way to a movie or other event and I just want to eat quick.

Ok, I understand what you are saying, but do we really expect our centerpiece "entertainment" district to be dirt cheap? I think $7-9 is a pretty reasonable price for the area. But, that being said, maybe it has to be cheap to work in OKC. I would just rather see something better than things Sonic, McD, Taco Bueno, etc. fill our signature district.

I think this is a good point and the area around the theater is prime for eat and go type food.

I just keep wishing we could do it differently there than what is in all of our malls and on every corner of our city. I know I sound like a broken record here, but bricktown and even lower bricktown should be used as the city's opportunity to expand its choices, not just duplicate everything we already have (not that you were suggesting that).

I just ate at a lil italian place on May, just North of 64rd. Used to be a dentists office. Very small and good quality food. Pizza by the slice for about $2.80.

You're gonna think I'm nuts, but one of my favorites is pizza by the slice from Sam's Club. You get two pieces and a drink for somewhere around $2 and it really is good.

What is RAW?

It's Bricktown RAW and it's a sushi place and I also here they serve Chinese for lunch only. A much welcome addition to Bricktown and downtown.

Very true. It's not something I'm interested in, but many are I'm sure.

Othello's Bricktown will open November 6th as long as I do not have any huge snags. We have done alot of work on the building to make it a trendier atmosphere. I also changed my traditional Othello's menu some to suit the building and of course Bricktown does not need or want another traditional Italian place like Zios or Spaghetti Warehouse. The only thing that I regret is that the new space does not have room for my pizza oven, but I have plans to add great pizza to the Bricktown scene before long.

Man...no Othello's pizza?!?! Bummer!

I'm not sure if he was joking or not, but I think a cheap ice cream place would be great along the canal. If they updated the decor and appeal specifically for Bricktown, Braum's would be a fantastic addition. It may be fast food and ice cream, but it's corporate base is downtown and it'd be nice to see an updated, location-specific Braum's.

I'm not sure if anyone ever posted that idea, I'm fairly new here...

I personally love Braum's and it would be nice for them to place a location specific atore in Bricktown, but it will never happen.

Inferno, I look forward to your restaurant ... did you ever state it's location? Even if so, please say it again!

Why do you think they wouldn't? I don't mean to challenge your post, I was just curious why you wouldn't think it would happen.

I belive that Braum's is more ept to expand into areas with their carbon copy regular stores, it's the corperate way and it makes lot's of money.

As much as I wish they would, I really just do see them scrapping everything and building a "fancy" store from scratch in Bricktown. You honestly never know though, Sonic does wonderfully here with a little different store then what they normally build.

Othello's will be located in the area above Bourboun Street Cafe, formally the place of Daddy Hinkle's Restaurant and J. Franks Bar.

you are right i know drew and he is in the fast food bus not trendy bricktown but he does well with ice cream and schwab.........so why change my question is why is melting pot and simply fondue going head to head....i might not be the best bus man but bricktown is not the place to start a cvs eckards relationship....agree
