Default Improving Bricktown Ballpark view

I found some new Bricktown Ballpark photos around the web. Interesting to note the improving view from the seats. With the additions of the new 10 story hotel, the new 40+ story Devon Building, and I'm sure the new 6 story hotel along Reno will be well visible from the left field bleachers. The next time the Big 12 Baseball Tournament is held in OKC, the atmosphere is going to be great! Visitors from out of state will be shocked to see all the new developments! OKC's skyline and atmosphere is advancing!

Hopefully the new 6 story hotel will be visible from the left field bleachers (at least the upper deck)

Just imagine the view of the new Devon Building from here.

We have our own little Baltimore Camden Yards:

Why were there so many people there on a Tuesday night?

We went about ten minutes before 7 and the line was so long...we just said the heck with it.

The Pepsi can Tuesday promotion is that successful?

Granted Tulsa's proposed ballpark is for a Double-A team, I still love the fact that their downtown skyline will be located in the outfield (and thus visible from the majority of seats in the stadium). Why in the world didn't we plan for the Brick to do the same? It would be great if our stadium "framed" out skyline, like Tulsa's stadium will.

Cause Tulsa is retarded... ah, just kidding. or am i?

We could have turned the brick around and the entrance would have been on the SE corner, and parking.. well it would be facing the skybar...

I've always wondered the same thing. It seems like a no-brainer to include the skyline view over the outfield. It may be because batters would have to look northwest and the sun could be a factor.

Traditionally ballparks try to avoid facing to the West because the afternoon sun interferes with the batter being able to see the ball coming as most games are afternoon or evening games. With many pitchers pitching in the 90s and even 100+ mph, being able to see the ball is very important to the batter not only to be able to hit it but also for safety in the event of a wild pitch. This is also the reason there is an empty green space in straight away center so the batter can pick up the ball more easily.
