Drove by last night, the exterior brickwork is almost done. I'm still upset they didn't try to make this a walkup only restaurant, we don't need a "drive thru" in Bricktown. On another note, the old FOX Collison has been painted from its bright blue to a red and tan. You don't notice it near as much now. Just wish they'd tear it down and build something else that's not a drive thru restaurant.

...but if Tulsa is getting one, I'm not sure D&B is so appealing anymore. By the time it comes here, which it will, D&B will be just another chain you can experience in every major city across America. If that is the case, I'm not sure whether I'd want it downtown or on Memorial Road. I would suspect it would end up in Bricktown, which would add another entertainment option, but with the cost of having another chain in our evolving entertainment district.

I don't think we'll ever have an ESPN Zone- we don't currently even jhave one major league team, and will almost certainly top out at the 1. a D&B is better-suited for our size.

McDonalds? Why would I travel all the way to Bricktown, for Mickey D's?
I walk Bricktown. I walk the river. I love the ballpark. I could care less about McDonald's hamburgers. If anything, I'd frequent "Dick's Last Resort". It's more fun. How does McDonalds make Bricktown unique? If I needed a cheap burger, I'd prefer "Whataburger", or better yet, "Sonic". |

Coming from a big city, I think Bricktown is too spread out. It loses any energetic vibe that it generates because you have to walk through nothing to get anywhere. I think Mcdonalds is fine, but a building that small could have been wedged in somwhere where it would have acted as "filler."

More selection does not hurt, except if it takes up space where something better could have gone. In other words, the McDonalds is taking up land where a better facility could have been placed.

perhaps, but McD is who stepped up and filled a space that had been vacant.
the day before signing, anyone with the capability and vision could have beat their time, yet no one did. Not seeing how that's the fault of the McD folks or why they should have said nope, nice potential for us but we'll pass so someone else can set up shop there. |

It's the fault of the city for poor planning..Bass Pro wasn't very visionary either. If they wanted to build a big box for someone, IKEA would have attracted more of the downtown type crowd and at least it would have been 2-3 levels.

I guess it's the non-city side of me. I see nothing wrong with Bass Pro being right where it is, just off two major interstates, drawing folks in from hither and yon.
I'm far more disturbed by the bone headed decision to expand the parking south ofBP, nearly on top of the canal, than I am the big pro outdoorsey haven the city brought in. but then, I do tend to shop there at times, so yeah, there's a bit of bias built in my thinking. |

I don't see what the big deal is about McD's. There's a McD's on the Las Vegas strip for pete's sake.

We all need to say no the chains like Earls, Bass Pro, Spaghetti Warehouse, U-haul, IHOP, Coca Cola Event Center, Sonic, Hooters, Marble Slab Creamery, Toby Keith's, Zio's, oh wait. Bricktown is for the tourists. Get over it.
