Last evening, my wife and I actually got a chance to get away from the kids and get a bite to eat. We went to the Western Sizzlin at I-240 & Penn. That place is kind of special to us, especially since it is the same restaurant where we met over 23 years ago. She was a waitress, and I was a customer. I reached for my ice tea, knocked it over, and she had to clean it up. She has been cleaning up after me since.

Anyway, we both had the salad bar, and it was excellent . We just happen to run in to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law at the restaurant, so we sat with them and talked with them. The conversation was great, and the waitress was very nice. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience at Western Sizzlin, especially the one on the south side.

Wow Keith. What a great story about how you and your wife met! Hmmm.....did you happen to go back to Western Sizzlin and propose over the salad bar? lol!

Anyways, I agree with you. Western Sizzlin has some good eating. I always enjoy their buffet. I put it up there with Golden Corral, Hometown Buffet, and Fire Mountain.

I agree with the one on south side too. We go there quite a bit to eat. My niece wanted me to take her there for her birthday dinner this year. I gave her the choice of any place in Oklahoma City and that was her choice.

Was enjoying my salad....until this giant roach crawled out from underneath the lettuce I was about to eat.

Got a whole free meal out of it. Doubt I'll go back.

Better to find a whole roach than a half of a roach, huh?

I agree, metro. Mackie does a very good job with his restaurants, and I have always enjoyed the food. Then, of course, Western Sizzlin is where I met my wife over 23 years ago ...when she was a waitress there.

Something strange happened, though.....when we got married, she quit waiting on me. Now, I wait on her, in a different sense.....she is never on time when we are going somewhere.
