I have nothing against Patrick. I just call the shots how they are. Staying in your hometown in a hotel is not very creative. I actually think it's pretty cheesy.

Report away, but I didn't call you any names. If I said "Survey, you are an idiot", then you'd have room to do reporting. But go ahead...although you won't get any attention that way.

Ahhhhh.....Santa Fe and Taos - great choices, Patrick. Lift a margarita glass in honor of all us flat landers in OKC as the sun goes down behind the mountains.

Of course you would stay in a hotel to celebrate an anniversary or a special occasion!

How absurd to think you should stay home in the same old bed, room, house etc etc..... it is definitely an investment in the romance department and makes for a long term and healthy relationship.

Variety is the spice of life.. hotel room, candles, champagne .. use your imagination.

Of course, it takes a lot of effort and thought to plan a romantic celebration but women really appreciate it.

I think Patrick is starting off his married life just fine.

I believe local stays are a part of the business of better hotels. That's why you see so many packages related to local museums and sports teams. A better hotel like the Renaissance will make it worth it, with the spa (not comped, of course), fitness equipment, and swimming pool. My parents spent one New Year's Eve (my dad's b-day is Jan 1) at the Courtyard and had a good time at Opening Night. They are offer convenience, and as stated earlier, a nice break or change.

BTW, congrats Patrick and Megan!
