Thumbs down House of Bedlam

I visited House of Bedlam yesterday with my girlfriend to check it out and to support a local restaurant over a chain. I saw this place on the news the other day complaining about how they suspect the new traffic construction at the intersection to hurt their business however didnt have any figures to back up their claim. I dont think the construction will hurt their business that much, however the food will. The menu only has about 5 or 6 options plus 2 or 3 appetizers. I opted for the cheeseburger and fries and she opted for the chicken ceaser salad. Well, to say the least, the burger was a reheated patty that was probably bought in bulk at sams, (very poor quality, probably sams choice brand) along with the bun, fries, and condiments, something I would expect to get at a high-school sports concession stand. Her Ceaser salad looked like a wilted salad from the 99cent menu at Wendy's. When we walked in, the place was deserted, only one other couple in there. The manager was "coaching" his employees the table next to us the whole time and didnt offer to come by and ask us how was everything. We saw our waiter like once. Keep in mind we were dressed very nice. We did however get free cheesestick appetizer when we were seated and every paying customer gets a free t-shirt. The food was horrible to say the least and for $11 bucks including a 25% tip, I don't see how this good concept of a restaurant will stay in business.

Thanks for your review metro.

I always find it interesting how companies blame their loss of business on other factors than the root cause. For example, Crossroads Mall recently blamed lack of traffic and store closings on I-35 construction, when indeed the real cause is the need for a complete makeover at the mall.

Anyways, from the way your story sounds, I doubt they'll stay in business long. I give them a year at best. There's too many other restaurants in the area to compete with.
