Default Children of Men

I've been waiting for this movie for like a year and it's finally got a wide release and opened here. It's supposed to be one of the year's (2006) best, so check it out.

We went and watched CoM this weekend. Now I understand why it didn't get the big push in theaters. Dont' get me wrong, the movie was okay, and the 'vision' was great, but CoM is VERY British!

Maybe that's no surprise, but it doesn't give the U.S. any attention at all. It's pacing, camera work, acting, and script is very British as well. It doesn't come across as a studio film. Sometimes it seems like an indie and at other points it feels like an epic. (Uneven?)

The movie's good, but the pacing is kind of funky. I know that sometimes it is good to have that change in there, but my ability to adjust to British storytelling isn't great.

We went to Bricktown over the weekend and saw it. It's now in the tiny East theatre and we were the only ones there.

Gotta say, I didn't much care for it. Too many unanswered questions.

Felt like part 2 of a 3 part series. I have no idea how it began and not a clue as to how it will end but I got great seats for the middle.

Not on my list of recommended movies at $6.50+ a head.

Twizzlers and a coke $7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally saw this the other day and I loved every minute of it. It gave an interesting perspective of futuristic society (probably about the most realistic portrayal of the future through everyday life in background when not involving the story, if that makes sense...) I thought that the movie carried itself well and had interesting viewpoints (showing the grim aspects of extremity in political slants.) I loved Michael Caine's character in it, though a bit too Lennon-inspired. The conversion of Bexhill into a refugee camp was pretty interesting, too. lol.

I'd say the movie that's disappointed me most out of all recently has been V for Vendetta. I only mention this because some of the issues involved are quite similar. That movie was probably the biggest pile of garbage, obviously catering to liberal college kids who considered it "THE revolutionary movie". I had more than 10 head slaps when watching that piece of crap.

10? That's it? I gave myself two black eyes and broke a nail.

That's saying something too...I've got thick nails!

I'll probably get one of those "stay out of my vah - jay - jay" responses, but this movie was the first thing that came to mind when the news media was airing the story recently about a pill that would allow women to "turn - off" thier monthly menstrual cycle. It's not nice to fool Mother Nature

Well I guarantee you if men were the ones that had menstrual cycles there would have already been a way to turn it off years ago

I agree with ya on the don't fool with mother nature, but if guys went thru what the ladies do every stinking month there would be a lot better products available since we can't even deal with a freakin cold
