I'd have to say Taylor clearly won the competition tonight. I'm sorry, but Katherine's single song sucked. That blew her chances. She's so unpredictable. Tayor is at least versatile with any song put before him.

Yeah, Kat missed too many notes in a forgettable song. It seemed as if she didn't have any voice left. She lost any fencesitters tonight, and Taylor will be the 5th idol. It'll be interesting to see what both produce for their debut (or first and last) albums.

Not sure why, but when Katherine really strains her voice it or when she tries to hit high notes, it sounds as if she's screaching. When she sticks to lower key songs and doesn't yell, it comes out fine. The reason she did so well with Over the Rainbow was because it was low key and didn't show much vocal range, in terms of high pitches.
