My dog does it the same way...just leave it out and she will eat it. She is picky, though. She won't eat just anything. She is not like the junkyard dog that eats anything that doesn't move. One good thing also, is that she has a big enough yard to run around in, that she gets lots of great exercise....so she stays in excellent shaoe.
