ECO I have a few of the same concerns you do. I'm not sure it can really be avoided. McCain has been slamming him nonstop for the last few weeks - so much for no negative campaigning. The poll numbers showed his lead falling, so a call had to be made. Unfortunately negativity and fear still wins elections. We'll see how this goes...but I too was excited to see a campaign of issues and not slams.
