Default Re: Biden Vice President

Wow. The whole appeal of Obama was that he was a different kind of politician, one who was civil and above the frey. I appreciated that - I just hate the hypocritical, mean spirited, partisan crap we are deluged with. Although I have far more conservative views than Obama, what he has seemingly brought to the table has intrigued me. My thought, until now, has been that if he is elected our next president, there are a lot of down sides but potentially, a whole lot of good sides and I can live with it and support him as my president.

I was really unhappy to hear the old-time partisan, hateful comments coming from Biden. Same old, same old. The unique attributes of Obama that I really admire and have thought would be so good for this country if he is elected no longer exist. I just feel like in choosing Biden, he threw away everything that made him different. I am disappointed because I think he sold out. All that is left is a far left liberal with little experience who is just as willing to get mean and hateful to get what he wants as the next guy. By choosing Biden, he adopts Biden's pitbull, partisan stance. Obama can't stand back and sic him on others and still keep his hands clean. I keep hearing that the "role" of the vice presidential candidate in an election is to be the mean one which allows the presidential candidate to remain above it all. Isn't that just the same old/same old? Doesn't that just say that Obama is just like the other politicians? And to hear Biden attack a FRIEND for political purposes... Hard to get to inspired over that.

At the same time, I don't know who would have been a better choice. There is not much to choose from, given the type of politician Obama claimed to be. No matter who is elected, I will support him. All the same, my sense that "no matter who is elected we will be okay," is gone. Let's see if I get back my optimism over the next couple of months.
