Re: What is your political platform?
At the risk of falling prey to a charismatic leader (and history shows that this is a danger, sometimes), I think we need someone who will LEAD this country rather than one who will simply impose their opinion (frequently influenced by special interests). The pandering and partisan politics are destroying our cohesiveness as a nation. There are a ton of rank and file members of each party whose core political beliefs are reasonable and rational even if they disagree on how to get things done. Unfortunately, the leaders and the ones who make the news mainly come across as hate filled, finger pointing loons. The end result is that the democrats think they know what republicans stand for (and what "kind" of people they are!) and vice versa. For the most part, I doubt it is an accurate portrayal.
