True, but those contract clauses are very difficult to enforce. That's because you can't have a contrat provision that constructively prevents someone from earning a living, even if that means going to work for a competitor. If someone *really* doesn't want to wait the nine months (or whatever), you can typically circumvent such clauses.

IIRC, Mike Morgan was involved in just such a fight with KOCO a few years back when he went to KFOR. May have been someone else, but I'm relatively sure that was the guy..
