Default Josh Heupel hired at Arizona

I'm sad to see Mike Stoops steal Heupel, but I guess it was time for him to move up in the world from Grad Assistant, to full assistant elsewhere.

If Jason White doesn't make it to the NFL, maybe he can take Heupel's place. Boy, wouldn't that be interesting!

"Heupel hired as Arizona assistant

By The Associated Press

TULSA -- Former Oklahoma quarterback and current graduate assistant Josh Heupel said he's been hired as a full-time assistant at Arizona.
Arizona head coach Mike Stoops is to formally announce the hiring.

Heupel said he will coach tight ends and either offensive tackles or fullbacks.

Arizona was just 3-and-8 in Stoops' first season, but won two of its last three games and upset 18th-ranked Arizona State in the season finale. The Wildcats current recruiting class is ranked by some as among the top 20 in the nation.

Heupel led OU to a 13-and-0 record and the national championship in 2000 and still holds school records for most 300-yard games with eight, 400-yard games with two and consecutive games with a touchdown pass with 25. "
